Harvey House: If you like railroads, history, great food, and
good company, then this is the trip for you. You'll arrive at
the Wilderness Lodge Restaurant in Fremont, NE for rolls, juice, and
coffee and then proceed to the Fremont Elkhorn Valley Railroad for
your trip to Nickerson, NE. Narrative will be provided with both
a history of the Harvey Houses and railroads. Harvey House
Restaurants were at one time the epitome of fine dining with sharply
attired women, exquisitely set tables, and consistently good
food. Following your arrival, you will re-board the bus for a
tour of the area including a narrative and a stop at the Apple
Barn. Dinner at Camp Fontanelle, a beautiful forested setting in
the hills will feature a meal typical of one served over 100 years
ago. Railroad memorabilia will be on display and live
entertainment will be provided. Following dinner, you will head
back to the train for the return trip to Fremont. Pickups will
be made in Rockwell City, Lake City, Glidden, Carroll, and
Denison. Cost for the really fun and interesting day will be
$125.

Branson: Join
your Emerald Club friends on a tour of Branson that includes the Doug
Gabriel, Pierce Arrow, and Yakov Smirnoff shows; as well as, the
Twelve Irish Tenors and the fabulous Miracle of Christmas Show.
The Miracle of Christmas Show brings the Biblical story of the
Nativity to life with more that 60 actors, camels, horses, sheep, and
parrots. Angels "fly" across the stage on a remarkable
"flight system" so realistic you must see it to believe
it! The gorgeous theatre is decked out in lights, greenery, and
a 30 foot Christmas tree, but the beautiful story of Jesus' birth
remains the heart of the show.
Price for this trip is $599/double. Cancellation insurance is
optional and can be purchased for $70. A $50 down payment will
reserve your spot. Call any United Bank of Iowa office and we'll mail
you a detailed flyer.
